I have been very active lately, however just not here. There's just been some bad luck with the camera (forgot the right lens, battery, etc.) and a lack of pictures means a lack of posts. That's a shame because I've been out and about for a few nights.
Last Wednesday, Alex joined me at Comix to see Andy's The Liar Show. As always, the most outrageous story was true and the most mundane was false. You can use that tip at the next one to win a free t-shirt.
Mark and Viv hosted movie night projected on their gigantic wall and a ton of workshop friends showed up and demolished bottled of red wine. We watched Breakfast At Tiffany's, whose title is a callgirl's euphemism for the walk of shame. I hadn't realized that during a previous watching. I also noticed that Breakfast At Tiffany's is a rip off of Ohara's "Butterfield 8". Elizabeth Taylor is a much sexier prostitute than Audrey Hepburn as well.
There are many glamorous call girls on the silver screen from Taylor to Roberts to Lohan. Based on the Spitzer case, I think it actually might be as glamorous as Hollywood portrays, however with much more sex with nasty old dudes that the movies always seem to gloss over.
…
The rest of the weekend invloved eating WAY too many wings (there is a saying that "cutting wood warms you twice," well the wings did the same), a few beers, the gym, and doing our taxes. None of which is photo worthy. Saturday was the first day of Spring (temperature, not astronomically) and I almost shot some flowers. Unfortunately, the gun wasn't loaded.

On my home last night I discovered that my grocery store was burning. This photo from the Brooklyn Heights Blog dashes any hope of shopping there in the near future. It looks like it's pizza all the time for me now. Yay!

Here's the Ham Potpie I cooked from the Easter leftovers. It's a Pennsylvania Dutch recipe you can find here.
It truly is a comfort, stick to your ribs, all food groups in one spoon, working man's meal.
This time I added fresh green beans and some bay leaves. And lots of black pepper.

Today's pic is a peep bouquet my cousing Katie made as a hypoallegenic substitution to appease my sneezey mother. I was not present for this, but instead was enjoying 45 pounds of ham my wife cooked for me and her family. It's time to make ham potpie.

Happy St. Pat's! I hope you are in a pub. I am in the office.
Happy St. Pat's! I hope you are in a pub. I am in the office.
We made it! Ben, Erik, and I summited Mount Washington at 1PM on March 12, 2008. The temperature was in the teens and there were sustained 20 mile per hour winds, but the sky was clear and we could see for over 70 miles. That's actually as ideal as it gets on Mount Washington in the winter.
Tons more photos this weekend.

I'm off to do a mountaineering course and winter ascent of Mount Washington, home to the worst weather on Earth. I'll try and post some updates from the road.
I've summited Mount Washington before, but that was in May. Doing it during the heart of winter is a much different proposition. Rest assured that I have spared no expense when in comes to purchasing equipment to insulate my bits and pieces.
