Lauren and Mike on Tuesday at Sidewalk Cafe

Lauren and Mike on Tuesday at Sidewalk Cafe. Nice night.

I was taking a break from my furniture rearranging obsession. Fred Exley told a story in “A Fan’s Notes” about a couple of delusionals he met in an insane asylum. A man who believed he was Elvis sat beside him while the guards dragged in another man who was convinced he was Jesus. While the wannabe messiah ranted, the Elvis minded man said in his low southern voice, “Look at that guy. He thinks he’s Jesus. What a nut ball.” I’ve discovered that when I share my obsessions with other neurotic obsessive-compulsives, they think I’m a wack job. This makes me all the more grateful to my friends that continue to help me assemble and dismantle furniture.
