I took Amtrak home at 6:30 AM on Saturday morning and slept the whole way to Altoona, despite inadvertently choosing the Romper Room car. Home has been quiet and the only event of note was the turducken that Dan made from scratch. After roasting for 8 hours, the mass of food emerged–a chicken stuffed with sausage stuffing within a duck stuffed with shrimp stuffing within a turkey stuffed with corn bread. The meat was tender and juicy and each of the dressings tasted amazing. The whole mass was served as perfect slices, each individual layer visible and available for sampling.
