Like me, my friend Colleen is the youngest of her siblings. Unlike me, but similar to Jennifer Gray in Dirty Dancing, her family calls her “Baby.” She has gotten so used to it that she has developed an odd type of Colleen-speak where she refers to everyone as “Baby,” including herself in the third person. So if on her birthday (Jan. 3) she wanted me to join her for a movie, she might call and say, “Would Baby like to meet Baby for a movie and then we can go out drinking with the other Babies later?” We like he because of this and despite it. The cake in the picture says “VT Rules.” Walker, UVA alum, loves his betrothed.
