These are the two children

These are the two children I got to play with during a rainy weekend in the Poconos at Kevin’s cabin (thanks for the pic, Kevin). These two rugrats entertained themselves all day and behaved better than me. The small one, Helena, followed her older sister, Julia, around, trying to participate in all the same activites, but often content to just watch. Julia made a hobby of rolling her sister over which produced much giggling. Great kids. I also enjoyed getting to know their parents, particularly their mother’s cooking and their father’s taste for red wine. Heidi and Johannes whipped up a dinner of filet mignon and rosemary potatoes that was served with two bottles of Austrian wine from Johannes’ home….
The inset is me removing a tenacious rubber band from Barbie’s hair as a favor to Julia. I’m not enjoying the task or the fact it was being photographed. Kids should only play with toy guns.

    Things to do today:

  • Pay bills
  • Call the super to put a new doorknob on my door. I broke the other one off.
  • Make two sets of spare keys to store at friend’s places. I was locked out.
  • Buy Jeff Martini a drink.
