Dear Diary, er I mean Mr. Lincoln,
I'v been super busy lately, but I promise to take some pictures of something this weekend, even if it is just my view or my big toe. Here are some random thoughts:
- I don't like blogs that start every post with "Dear Diary" or even worse, "Dear Some Historic Person." So I won't be doing that again. Sorry, Abe.
- There's an anti-smoking commercial running in the New York area that is really disturbing. You don't have to watch. It shows a kid who loses his mom in a crowded place. The kid freaks out and cries, obviously not acting. The gyst is that's how he'd feel if he lost you forever, don't smoke, yadda. If I was that kid, I'd take an axe to my parents when I was 16 and use this video to successfully beat the wrap.
- I watched an interesting movie by Spike Lee about if the South won the Civil War. It had some dark, clever moments, but was outrageously heavy-handed, grossly generalizing all modern Southerners as morally identical to the lowest from 1850. I didn't think that was nice, but the guy who was satirizing Shelby Foote was pretty funny. We miss you, Shelby.
- Currently reading the Updike's Rabbit Anthology and "The Art Of Agile Software Development." I fall asleep quickly.
- Have you noticed when Michelle Obama stands beside the Queen, members of the media just go to heaven? It's like Christmas-o-ween for them.
Well, that's it for today, Mr. Lincoln. I'm sure you had some tough days, too. Thanks for being there.
Best,
Sean
