FoodTV is hosting a New York Food an Wine Festival and the mlw scored tickets their Meatball Madness Event. The idea was simple. The filled a gigantic event space in Soho with table after table of people cooking meatballs and, of course, wine. We hit it the way we like to roll for food festivals--we walked in, ate until we were nauseous, and left before getting bumped to the point of annoyance. Between the two of us (with me taking up the piggy's share) we ate 24 meatballs. I'm writing this from my living room floor, groaning.

Here were the favorites:

Spaghetti and Meatball Style:I liked Abboccato, chef Jim Botsacos. The mlw liked The Little Owl , chef Joey Campanaro,
Unconventional: the lobster meatball by Ed's Lobster Bar. Close second was the duck meatballs in mushroom sauce made by Fresco by Scotto Restaurant, chef Marion Scotto. The mlw actually liked the penang curry and peanut meatballs by Kin Shop, chef Harold Dieterle:
Meatball Sandwich Style: All of them
