Change is here!

To McCain supporters, "Take heart in the fact that our nation can administer a change of power without bloodshed. If your views did not win the day, maybe you need to look within yourself, the value of your message, and how you express it to people and reevaluate. Never stop questioning and remember civil dissent is one of the most American of traits." I wrote that to friend and Kerry supporter after George W. captured the election in 2004.

To my fellow Obama supporters, THANK GOD! I wish I was in Chicago for their party. My mom was in town a while back and asked to borrow my Civl War DVD set. So I ripped it and gave it to her. Because of that I randomly ended up watching it on my PSP while on the treadmill at the gym tonight, creating a wonderful moment of accidental poignioncy.

In my favorite speech of all time, Lincoln said, "[A] new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal...that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

Having once been lead by someone who could write such, I am still eager to see the back of G. W. Bush and his years of disgrace. I hold many Republicans in esteem, but he will never be one of him.

Also, as she leaves, I'm also eager to see the backside of Governor Palin, but that is for completely different reasons.
