Today's pic shows how we started Christmas: Prosecco with a sugar cube soaked in blood orange bitters at the bottom. We also had fresh bagels with lox, cream cheese, capers and red onions. Then, presents. Then a fast trip to the Tree and the Cathedral. Home for more Prosecco and then dinner. I wanted to make a turkey dinner that wasn't a Thanksgiving dinner. I was pleased with what the team chose:

* Roast turkey with carrots, onion, celery and garlic underneath and in the cavity
* Gravy made from deglazing the previous with red wine and adding lots of sage
* Parmesan risotto (an mlw specialty)
* Roasted parsnips (scalloped cut, tossed in olive oil, a splash of balsamic, and a little parm cheese, too)
* Grilled asparagus (more olive oil and just a tiny squirt of sriracha sauce)
* Left over gruyare potatos
