Our front yard is a piece of concrete that dogs pee on, but our proverbial backyard is Governor's Island. There are free ferries all day every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 30 through October 11 from the Fulton Ferry Landing (and some other place in Manhattan). It's just a few minutes to get there, so you can pop over for a jog of stroll. I snapped these pics on Saturday. I love boats and water (despite disliking the beach, sand=not fun) so I really feel lucky to live so close to a harbor.
The featured picture is from an installation currently on the island. It's called The Agony of Man. I like it.
