It was one of those paradoxical spring days where you walk over deep snow in warm sunshine.  Despite the snow, it was still a great day to visit the gardens. While the plants outside were dormant, there were still four gigantic terrariums to tour without the spring and summer crowds.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"botanical_02.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seantconrad.com\/years\/2007\/days\/mar\/botanical_02.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\nOutside little markers pointed to the sleeping perennials&#8217; like civil war grave markers&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"botanical_03.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seantconrad.com\/years\/2007\/days\/mar\/botanical_03.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\n&#8230;but inside was warm and blooming like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amandabynes.com\/\">Amanda Bynes<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"botanical_04.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seantconrad.com\/years\/2007\/days\/mar\/botanical_04.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\nClose eyes. Picture perfect tree. Open eyes. I am a giant!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"botanical_05.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seantconrad.com\/years\/2007\/days\/mar\/botanical_05.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"botanical_06.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seantconrad.com\/years\/2007\/days\/mar\/botanical_06.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\nThe Steinhardt Conservatory has four glass pavilions, each reproducing a particular climate. The Warm Temperate (shown here) is the best smelling place I have ever been, full of lavender, sage, orange, blossoms, and hundreds of other aromatics.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"botanical_07.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seantconrad.com\/years\/2007\/days\/mar\/botanical_07.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"botanical_08.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seantconrad.com\/years\/2007\/days\/mar\/botanical_08.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" \/><br \/>\nApparently, the Palm House is a popular wedding spot and we had an appointment to tour it.
