A week ago today my parents showed for a visit and my mother brought a Tupperware bin full of cookies and a bag of lebanon bologna–A Pennsylvania Dutch lunch meat. Word got out and soon requests were flying in from friends who had sampled the stuff after my folk’s last visit, so I packed a few sandwiches and a bag of cookies and met a bunch of friends at Grace. Kate has been working there a few weeks now and we all wanted to go one night to check the place out. In attendance: Erik, Aaron, Kate, Lauren, Mary, Emma, Tyler, and me. Everyone had a bit of the bologna, but the homemade cookies really went well. I had rudely told my mom that I would end up throwing them away because I don’t like cookies. What a dumb ass, I am. Note to the fellas, if you ever want to meet women, walk into the bar with a bowl of your Mom’s homemade cookie. It works on, like, three levels.
